2025: Ladoke Akintola International Airport to be ready October or November Makinde
Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has said the airside of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Alakia, Ibadan is to be ready around October or November this year. The governor said this Saturday at the commissioning of the Kunle Afolayan Productions’ Film Village and Resort, Igbojaye in Oyo state. Gov Makinde said the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Alakia, Ibadan would receive a wide-bodied aircraft before the end of the year, signaling its upgrade as an international airport.
He added that his administration is well on course with its commitment to expand its economy through tourism, as it remains a key cornerstone in the administration’s economic strategy. “Thankfully, an international airport is being set up in Ibadan and the airside should be ready around October or November this year. We will receive a wide-bodied aircraft in Ibadan Airport around that time,” he said.
