Daystar marks 30th anniversary with 55,000 academy alumni
The Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos, has commenced its 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of transformational ministry and leadership development, impacting tens of thousands across Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking during a press conference to unveil activities lined up for the anniversary at the church’s headquarters on Ikosi Road, Oregun, Lagos, Senior Pastor Sam Adeyemi described the milestone as a journey of grace, growth, and purpose focused on raising role models in society. “When you build people, you build a future,” Adeyemi said, reflecting on the church’s vision over the past three decades. “Our journey has been about transforming lives and raising leaders who demonstrate integrity, excellence, and compassion in every sector of society.”
He explained that the celebration, themed “A Mosaic of Changed Lives,” encapsulates both gratitude for the past and renewed vision for the future. According to him, the Daystar Leadership Academy of the church’s flagship initiatives has trained over 55,000 in leadership and personal development across business, government, and nonprofit sectors. Adeyemi added that the church has also empowered thousands more through the Daystar Skills Acquisition Programme and the Daystar Business Academy, which he said has produced numerous successful entrepreneurs, including multimillionaires and industry leaders.
“Through these platforms, we have built people spiritually, mentally, and economically. The next 30 years will focus on digital discipleship, leadership incubation, and global transformation,” he noted. He also announced that the church will host a special anniversary service on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10 am, inviting the public to join in celebrating what he described as three decades of God’s faithfulness and people-centred ministry.
