Afolabi, Oshun dismiss Fayemi’s alignment with anti-Tinubu coalition

Two prominent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Ayo Afolabi and Mr Wale Oshun, yesterday, urged Nigerians, especially the party faithful to dismiss speculations that former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, was part of the ongoing coalition of politicians aiming to oust President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

In separate telephone conversations yesterday, the duo said it was a dangerous political propaganda aimed to create a dislocation in the polity, describing the rumour as part of the ongoing coalition of politicians wanting to vote out President Tinubu, come 2027, and probably one of the pranks, which was absolutely unfounded and very malicious.

The APC spokesman in Ekiti, Segun Dipe, in another telephone conversation, said it was not true that the party or the presidency had concluded arrangements to deny Governor Biodun Oyebanji a return ticket next year because of his closeness to former Governor Fayemi.

Dipe’s reaction came on the heels of speculation that the presidency was currently miffed with the former Minister of Mine and Steel Development, basically because of his alleged involvement with the coalition of opposition politicians against President Tinubu’s second term ambition and might have, therefore, concluded plan to take a pound of flesh from Oyebanji, who succeeded him in office.
