“Taraba  An Agricultural PowerHouse  With Vast Untapped Potential” – Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has described Taraba State as an agricultural powerhouse with vast untapped potential. Speaking at the Taraba State International Investment Summit (TARAVEST) 2025, held in Jalingo, Shettima called on investors to explore the state’s rich natural resources. He noted that the state is richly endowed with agricultural and mineral resources that remain underutilized. “Agriculture is more than the use of a hoe,” he said, emphasizing the need for innovation and investment to unlock the sector’s full potential.

He also pointed to the mining industry as another area requiring significant development, stating that “the wealth in Taraba is too vast to be reduced to mere statistics.” The Vice President reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting local investment under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu. However, he stressed that transforming natural resources into sustainable wealth requires unity and collective effort. “Converting our abundant resources into wealth will ensure Nigeria remains viable, especially as our population continues to grow,” he said.

Earlier, Governor Agbu Kefas assured attendees that Taraba is safe and ready for investment, stating that peace and security are guaranteed.
