Overview

Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has subsidised transport fares for residents by an estimated N14.9 billion since 2019 through the operations of the Lagos Bus Service Limited (LBSL).

The State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, disclosed this on Tuesday during the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing, held at Alausa, Ikeja, where he presented the administration’s transportation achievements over the past year.

According to Osiyemi, LBSL had moved 60.88 million passengers between May 2019 and February 2025, adding that as of February, LBSL carried over 42,266 passengers daily, operating an average of 1,000 bus trips per day.
