Veteran actor and comedian Okey Bakassi is celebrating 24 years of marriage with his wife, Zizi, and he marked the occasion with a touching message on Instagram.
Reflecting on their journey, Okey shared that they tied the knot in Port Harcourt—the same city where they first met. He opened up about the highs and lows of their life together, acknowledging the many challenges they’ve faced over the years, from financial pressures to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“On this day 24 years ago, we went before God, family, and friends to exchange marital vows in Port Harcourt, the city we first met,” he wrote.
“We were young, excited, and oblivious to the enormity of the challenges ahead… The bills piled, Covid-19 happened… too many challenges. But with the blessings of three kids, the grace of God, the love of family, and the support of friends, success prevailed.”
Okey went on to shower his wife with love and appreciation, calling her his rock and praising her for making their journey together seem effortless.
“My darling wife, thanks for making this journey look easy. You’re the best. Let’s hold hands and walk into the sunset, confident that the sun will always rise and we’ll still have each other. I love you from now till eternity. Happy 24th anniversary, Zizi.”
