I Remain In LP, ADC Coalition Is For 2027 Elections - Obi

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has declared that he remains a member of the party despite joining other opposition politicians to form coalition.

He stated that he had not left LP for the African Democratic Congress, which is the platform adopted by the coalition of opposition leaders.

Obi stated this on Friday while speaking during the flag-off of campaign for the party’s candidate for the November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state, Dr George Moghalu and his running mate, Lady Ifeoma Okaro.

He claimed that all members of the Labour Party, including elected members of the National Assembly, were part of the coalition.

This is as he reiterated that he would contest for President in 2027, maintaining that he was serious about his ambition.

He said, “I will start this conversation by clarifying some confusions making the rounds. I need to explain to you and it is very important that I clarify this because people are saying, ‘Oh! Obi is in ADC and also in the Labour Party.

“Let me put it categorically clear, I and the National Assembly members of the Labour Party are part of the coalition that have adopted ADC for the 2027 election and other parties will join us.
