“No Actress Bought A G-Wagon From Acting Money” – Yemi Solade

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has sparked heated reactions online after boldly claiming that no Nigerian actress has ever purchased a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon solely from acting income. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a recent interview, Solade argued that the Nigerian film industry does not pay actors and actresses enough to afford such high-end luxury vehicles. According to him, any actress driving a G-Wagon must have additional sources of income outside of acting.

Yemi Solade’s Statement

In his words:

“No actress can say she bought her G-Wagon from the money made from acting. How much do they even earn? Acting alone cannot fund such a purchase unless they are doing something else on the side.”

Social Media Reactions

His remarks triggered diverse reactions from fans and movie lovers:

@klintzeal_mix: “Probably they invested the little money they were earning.”

@orobo4sure: “Wahala! How are they making their money then?”

@TkakaBariga: “I know a few of them that can easily boast of buying G-Wagon from acting—Funke Akindele and others in her league.”

@PabloVenz0: “Everybody mentioning Funke Akindele lol. The man said money from acting, not producing. Besides, Funke has plenty of other investments.”

@SarahAkinyemi7: “Wumi Toriola can even say she bought herself a private jet from acting because she dey act wonders.”

The debate continues as Nigerians question whether Nollywood truly generates the kind of wealth that supports such flamboyant lifestyles.
