Geregu Power records N87.632bn revenue in H1 2025
Geregu Power Plc has released its second quarter financial result ended June 30, 2025, reporting revenue of N87.632 billion.
The amount represents N6.955 billion or 8.62 per cent compared with N80.677 billion achieved in the comparable period of 2024.
Cost of sales surged from N39.203 billion recorded in 2024 to N51.884 billion, representing an increase of N12.681 billion or 15.71 per cent while gross profit declined by 13.80 per cent to N35.748 billion from N41.473 billion reported in the corresponding period of 2024.
An Analysis of the company results posted on the NGX website showed that operating profit went down to N29.686 billion from N30.412 billion, administrative expenses surged to N5.176 billion from N4.540 billion made in the previous year.
The company posted profit before tax of N26.311 billion within the year under review from N30.152 billion reported in the preceding year while it paid income tax of N6.129 billion against N10.139 billion in the same period in 2024, bringing profit for the year to N20.181 billion compared to N20.013 billion in 2024 second quarter result.
The unaudited result showed that the company recorded Finance income of N3.433 billion declining from N4.595 billion, Finance cost rose from N4.855 billion in 2024 to N6.808 billion at the end of June this year while net finance cost stood at N3.374 billion against N260.270 million in the preceding year.
On the balance sheet, total assets grew to N267.6 billion as of June 2025, up from N243.470 billion in December 2024.
This asset growth was primarily driven by a 24 per cent increase in trade and other receivables during the period under review.
As of July 11, 2025, Geregu Power Plc share price stood at N1,141.50 on the Nigerian Exchange, reflecting a 0.74 per cent decline on the day.
In 2024, the company achieved an impressive year-to-date growth of 188.22 per cent.
