Osayi-Samuel files complaint against Turkish girlfriend

After returning from abroad, the Nigerian footballer discovered that his wristwatch was missing from his home in Üsküdar.
According to the Turkish sports news outlet Sports Digitale, the General Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation into the theft.
Ayşenur O. provided a statement as a suspect, noting that they had been friends for about three to four months and had visited an entertainment center in Şişli together on April 27. She mentioned that Samuel was enjoying himself with her friends during the outing.
She stated, “I was just with him; it was very crowded. Later, we went to his home in Üsküdar to collect his luggage because he was preparing to return to England. We stayed at his apartment for about 20 to 25 minutes, and then we headed to Sabiha Gökçen Airport together.”
Ayşenur explained that Samuel left the country, and she had not seen him since. She said, “About one to one and a half months after our meeting, he sent me a message via WhatsApp accusing me of stealing his watch when we were at his house. I told him, ‘If you have such an accusation, let’s go to the authorities together. I did not steal your watch. In fact, I didn’t even see your watch.’ I do not accept the accusation against me; I am innocent.”
In a statement provided through his lawyer, Samuel acknowledged that he met Ayşenur O. at the entertainment venue and they had a good time together. He stated that the watch in question was on his wrist while they were at the venue. After visiting Ayşenur O.’s home, he left for abroad that same day.
Upon returning to Türkiye, Samuel realised that his watch was missing during the first week of May. He said, “I believe that Ayşenur O. stole the watch when she came to my home because no one else had entered my residence since then. Camera footage confirms that I wore the watch that day and that I returned home afterwards.”
