Overview
The Lagos State Government has taken swift action to address escalating concerns in Lekki Phase 1 following a distress call from the community’s residents association.
Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat convened an emergency strategy meeting with the Executive Committee of the Lekki Phase 1 Residents Association (LERA) and top officials from key ministries and agencies to tackle growing insecurity, environmental degradation, traffic chaos, and the unchecked proliferation of advert signage in the area.
Hamzat acknowledged the urgency of the issues, warning that “what affects Lekki today could affect Lagos tomorrow.”
