Demehin pens new Galatasaray deal

Super Falcons defender Tosin Demehin has signed a new contract extension at Turkish women’s outfit Galatasaray, following her impressive season at the club, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The 23-year-old Nigerian international had arrived Galatasaray in the summer of 2024, following her departure from French side Stade de Reims, and went on to make 26 appearances across all competitions, scoring a solitary goal.

Demehin was impressive in the heart of defence for the Turkish club, helping them to a fourth-place finish in the Turkish Women’s Super League and going on to play a prominent role as Gala featured in the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time.

She was part of the Nigerian squad that claimed a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title at the recently concluded WAFCON tournament in Morocco. The competition, which was Demehin’s debut on the continental stage, saw her feature in every single game for the Super Falcons on their way to lifting the trophy.
