Seyi Vodi celebrates 50th birthday with elegant all-white praise party
Renowned fashion entrepreneur Seyi Adekunle, popularly known as Seyi Vodi, marked his 50th birthday in grand style with an all-white celebration that blended glamour, gratitude, and heartfelt reflection.
The event, held at the newly renovated Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, drew a crowd of elegantly dressed guests who embraced the evening’s all-white dress code with sophistication. More than just a birthday party, the night served as a moment of thanksgiving for a life well-lived and a successful career spanning over two decades in the Nigerian fashion industry.
The venue was transformed into a luminous white sanctuary, adorned with soft LED pin lights, gold accents, and pristine white chairs. At the heart of the stage stood a towering, gold-trimmed portrait of Vodi, symbolising his stature in the fashion world. Bursts of fog and indoor fireworks added a dramatic flair to the evening’s highlights.
From the red carpet to the dance floor, the celebration was filled with music, worship, and emotional moments that mirrored Vodi’s deep sense of gratitude. Gospel artists Tope Alabi and Adeyinka Alaseyori led powerful praise sessions, setting a spiritual tone that resonated with many in attendance.
In one especially moving moment during worship, Vodi dropped to his knees, tears flowing as he lifted his hands in deep thanksgiving—a powerful expression of humility and joy at reaching such a milestone.
Another highlight was when family and friends encircled him for the birthday song. He prostrated himself on the floor in gratitude to God, as firecrackers were fired into the air and the voices echoed, “Happy birthday to you…”
Among the distinguished guests were former Liberian President George Weah and celebrated entertainers like Jide Kosoko, Sola Sobowale, Kate Henshaw, and Dayo Amusa, among others.
Still riding the wave of his golden jubilee celebrations, the fashion designer and socialite treated himself to a 2025 Rolls Royce Cullinan Series 2, valued at $700,000 (approximately N1.09 billion).
