Folasade Tinubu-Ojo Launches Scholarship For 1,000 Students In Cross River
Mujidat Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, has launched a scholarship scheme for over 1,000 indigent students seeking admission into Havilla University, Nde 3-Corner, Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State for the 2025/2026 academic session. The fully-funded tuition award, valued at ₦400,000 per student, marks her second anniversary as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Havilla University.
Speaking shortly after the anniversary ceremony, Tinubu-Ojo said the initiative reflects her commitment to youth empowerment and educational advancement. “Education is the only leveler between the rich and the poor in society. Every Nigerian youth deserves access to quality education to secure a brighter future for the nation,” she said. The Iyaloja-General expressed appreciation to the Governing Council, led by Chancellor Hon Jones Tangban, a former member representing Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, for their leadership, which has positioned Havilla University among Africa’s leading institutions.
In response, Tangban thanked Tinubu-Ojo for her generosity, noting that her gesture aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu Philomath University, GrandPlus College of Education, Kwara State, and Foreign Link Academy campuses nationwide. Earlier, Tinubu-Ojo commissioned the Folasade Tinubu-Ojo Complex at the university and laid the foundation for the Folasade Tinubu-Ojo Centre for Vocational Studies
